Lonely No More, Dec 2, 2019

from From the Factory Floor by Christian and the Sinners

/

about

This is one of the last things we were working on before the lockdown, This is the third take, and probably the Sinners at their most improvisational. The instrumental section is too long, but I love it. I think we'd shorten considerably when we get to play it live, but then again, maybe not...

lyrics

Who ever said you wouldn’t be lonely,
Lonely’s my friend for many long years
Who ever said you wouldn’t be lonely
My book my art no time for tears

Lonely no more, since you left me
You killed my dreams, my hope, my fears

Sometimes it good to feel empty,
To feel your heart poured out on the floor.
Sometimes it’s good just to feel empty,
To tired to give or take, any more.

Lonely no more, since you left me
You killed my dreams, my hope, my fears

Who ever said you wouldn’t be lonely,
They lied to you and you believed
Someone’s told you you’d never be lonely
They lied to you and you believed

Don’t you deserve to feel lonely?
The world is sick I feel your need

Lonely is the box that you’re trapped in,
Wretched walls of sorrow are closing in
The spiked feelings are crushing you,
Don’t know what else that you can do.

Lonely no more since you left me,
My heart is on fire, my head is too.
My heart is on fire, my head is too.

Sounds like Joe Strummer and Nick Cave in a knife fight at Johnny Cash's house.

Re: Christian D and the Hangovers-
"With a style that looks to The Cramps, Nick Cave and Elvis, The Hangovers belt out distorted, punky rockabilly on record and on stage as if their lives depended on it."
